Tableau Community
During my five years leading Tableau's global community, our teams scaled one of the most engaged data communities in the world to over 10 million people — including 5 million on Tableau Public and more than 1 million students through academic licensing. We built and directed programs that drove product adoption, brand love, and user-generated content at a truly global scale. My team helped expand the Tableau Visionary and Ambassador programs to their most diverse and regionally representative cohort ever, and oversaw a community blog series that grew to 500+ published assets celebrating the stories, achievements, and creativity of data practitioners around the world.
A core focus of my work was building the infrastructure and programming that kept a global community genuinely connected and growing. We developed the sustainable event and content models behind 300+ Tableau User Groups worldwide, creating a year-round rhythm of engagement across dozens of countries and time zones. Through targeted content, community recognition, and carefully designed experiences, we turned a product user base into a thriving, self-sustaining community — one where members showed up not just to learn, but to contribute, connect, and champion the work of their peers.
